Faulkton, SD 57438

Historical Background

The theater opened its doors in the summer of 1950 with the screening of Miss Grant Takes Richmond, starring Lucille Ball and William Holden. Visitors are invited to step back in time as they enter through the original wooden doors, experiencing the charm of a bygone era while enjoying modern digital cinema.

The lobby and concession areas are adorned with decades of memorabilia collected by the Huss family, and the popcorn is still prepared using a vintage popcorn machine, preserving the authentic taste from over 70 years ago. After a fire in 1967, Cyril and his wife Dorothy took over the theater, renovating the space. Today, their son David Huss continues the family tradition, greeting patrons and selling tickets every weekend.
